Who is Virgile Mollat ?

Virgile Mollat du Jourdin is a visual artist, photographer, videographer and sound composer who graduated from the École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.

His practice explores the interaction between installation, photography, video, sculpture, sound and mechanical devices.

His work draws on viral tactics—interference, collage, détournement—which he interrogates through fiction.

He constructs fragmented universes composed of models, sculpted figures, still and animated images, and sound devices, questioning the circulation of information and its effects on bodies, architectures, and narratives.

His installations take the form of immersive environments, created from recycled materials, simple mechanisms and cyclical sound devices. His work has been presented in various exhibition contexts in France, including installations, group exhibitions and audiovisual projects.

Alongside his artistic practice, Virgile Mollat du Jourdin collaborates on films and audiovisual projects as a composer and sound designer.
